19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev won his initial championship for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has endured a torrid season, winning just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in specific - caused him dropping out of the top ten and eventually splitting with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.
This represents his first trophy after the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from March of that year.
Success also means he has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one different competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his last six finals, comprising in Halle previously this season.
His defensive approach and frequent emotional displays on court had caused observers to question if his ability to perform at the elite level was finished.
But the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete positively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, taking four of the final five points to gain the advantage.
The pair traded breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden tour title, gained dominance to push for a decider.
The opponent saved four early-game chances in a competitive deciding set before the Russian broke to that score to serve for the match.
Suitably, he clinched the win with a rally at the net area, with his opponent incapable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
